Problem
Different governmental websites were built differently. The user experience was inconsistent, and information architecture was not following central principles. Also, developing and maintaining websites one-by-one was not economically feasible.
Solution
Many Estonian Government agencies (incl. all ministries) websites are now built on the unified Government Platform. It is a Content Management System with shared UX and UI elements for all government agencies.
Results
The user experience is now harmonized throughout different websites. The guiding principles of managing the content are the same, allowing for efficient development and maintenance of the sites.
Data
About 30 government websites are using the shared platform. Many of them have been built with our assistance. In addition, the platform is about to be adopted by over 100 local municipalities.
