The site was outdated, hard to navigate, and moving to the government portal platform. Audit reports were buried and difficult to read. Long text blocks had no structure. The goal: stay within the platform's logic, while building something that clearly feels like the National Audit Office. The project covered strategy, UX design, and development testing throughout.

The visual identity was updated together with the National Audit Office team, based on their style book: new color palette, new typeface, all meeting WCAG accessibility standards. The National Audit Office did serious content simplification work before the design process started, which created a strong foundation. The information architecture was then rebuilt around user needs, and content was reorganized into four main categories. A dedicated audit section was designed with a filtering system, because with hundreds of reports, findability is everything.

The portal's default header was built for large, complex sites. After content simplification, the office needed something lighter. The header and content pages were redesigned to fit the actual scale of the content, with custom components built where the platform's defaults weren't enough.

Content migration was supported, and the team was trained with written guides to continue the work independently.

Our collaboration with Rethink was professional, efficient, and fast-paced. In a very short time, a design solution for the new website was developed. Rethink's support in navigating the government portal was particularly valuable, helping us make full use of the platform's existing functionalities. At the same time, the team created a design that meets audit requirements while preserving the visual identity of the National Audit Office. Rethink also made an important contribution to entering the Estonian-language website content. Much of this work was completed already during the project's testing phase and progressed very smoothly. The final result is clear, user-friendly, and visually appealing. We are very satisfied with the outcome.
